From touchdown to downtown, the STYLIGHT Fashion Influencer Awards event during Berlin Fashion week created a real splash. Over 190 flights were taken into Germany’s capital to celebrate the progressive digital Influencers of the year, 2015. If you weren’t following the live Twitter feed, uploading instant Instagrams and generally hashtagging your way through the night, we’ve recapped the evening’s highlights for you:
At a secret offsite location, our evening began with last year’s host, and biggest blogger in the world, Chiara Ferragni from ‘The Blonde Salad’. Digitally delivering her word of welcome and setting the bar for the evening, from here onwards we celebrated, appreciated, and recognised all the other digital fashion talent seated in the pool (yes, a swimming pool).
After a quick intro from our presenters, the lovely Louise Roe and the dashing Patrice Bouedibela, we met our jury for the evening: model and former Victoria’s Secret Angel, Bar Refaeli; US super blogger, Bryanboy; STYLIGHT co-founder and CEO, Benjamin Guenther; actress, model, and philanthropist, Sylvie Meis; and entrepreneur and CEO of PREMIUM Exhibitions Anita Tillmann.
The anticipation, emotion and nerves was as if we were swimming with sharks! And once the jury dived in, it was time to hand out the hard earned awards. We started by celebrating up and coming talent with the award for Rising Star of the Year; with so many incredible bloggers to choose from, the category was tough, however, dashing Dutch blogger Linda Tol took home the gong.
‘Jolie’ magazine’s readers had been voting for the final three German bloggers in our readers’ choice award and our exclusive jury selected our winner: Maja Weyhe. Our third award of the night was for the Most Influential Fashion Blog which went to Parisienne Betty Autier from ‘Le Blog de Betty’.
At the midway point in our evening German streetwear brand tigha stormed the stage with models showcasing their incredible designs and must-have leather pieces, with Klingande providing the tunes in the form of his hit single ‘Jubel’ turning the whole show into a party.
Not being ones to overlook our male counterparts, after the tigha/Klingande whirlwind, we continued with the nominations for Best Men’s Fashion Blog, which was won by the incredibly dapper Italian, Mariano Di Vaio of MDV Style. Most Successful Blogger Business was up next, with some of the blogging world’s most well known faces fighting it out to take the title, which was, in the end, handed to The Blonde Salad crew member and co-founder, Riccardo Pozzoli.
We finished the evening with the two biggies; firstly the gong for Best Celebrity Style, which went to German model Franziska Knuppe and then Fashion Influencer of the Year. As our Editor-in-Chief of STYLIGHT.de, Kerstin Weng reasoned: “the award for Fashion Influencer of the Year went to a blogger who had been on STYLIGHT’s radar for a few years, whose career has gone from strength to strength and is now part of a very small number of premium influencers in the world: Kristina Bazan, of the blog Kayture.” On receiving this special recognition for her work, Kristina stated “It feels insane. I feel so honored! It’s really crazy because it’s a huge sign of recognition for all the work that my team and I have put into the blog. It makes me realize that if you are confident and follow your heart, amazing things will come your way.”
As the confetti rained down on our jury and lucky winners marking the end of the show, we grabbed our dancing shoes and headed to the afterparty, to dance the night away with bloggers and celebrities alike.
Thank you all for an amazing evening in Berlin, and thank you even more for wanting to join us on this special event, we appreciate that unconditionally. See you next year!
