Can you define yourself using just one hashtag?
#BritAbroad
What would you say is your definition of success
Forgive me for sounding like a broken record but… my definition of success is turning my obsession with social media and penchant for writing into an actual paid profession. Yep, I said it.
What would you describe as your power outfit?
Minimal always. A simple tee and plain culottes. Although no matter what country I’m in, if I wear my culottes I feel like people are judging my ankles. Luckily, mine are ok-ish ones (and I have a massive tattoo to cover one of them)
Biggest surprise since working for Stylight?
How everyone can understand my totally British accent and the welcoming sense of family, even though the office is made up of around 22 nationalities. Last time I counted anyway.
The last thought you had before going to sleep last night?
Only one more sleep till breakfast 🙌🏻
Can you provide a word that describes you, but for each letter of your name?
Very, very, very Northern
Early bird
Real time
Insta-famous (I wish loool)
Tweets all day, errr day
YAS!
Who’s the person you’d most like to have a coffee with?
Craig David! Hands down. He’s liked a few of our tweets before and we were made up. Of course he’s number one on the ‘wall of social fame’. Although, we’d have to go on a Tuesday.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever been given?
To be fair there’s a few, but give me anything with a banana on it and I’m yours.
‘Home’ means…?
I’m not quite sure yet. Up North with my roots? Paris with my grandparents? Munich with my friends and colleagues? I’ll let you know when finally I’ve decided.

7:00 – 8:30
Ok, I’ll admit it, I’m a morning person. And even though it’s 7am, you know I’ve been awake since 6:30. I’d like to say I start my day with an ‘Oh hey!’ attitude, especially since I’m going to the office extra early to practice yoga. (Don’t hate me). I find it always helps to get to my desk as early as possible too since social media stops for no man. Gotta get that news out before everyone else right?
10:00
About now I’m caught up on what’s right, wrong and socially trending in the world. I’ve got a few tweets scheduled for the day, regular facebook posts, and I’m on my way to attending the daily content standup. Oh yeah, and that early morning stretch was pretty good too.
The Brand Marketing team is made up of girls (and guys) coming from all over the world, so this is my chance to hear about what’s been happening in their countries, what everyone is currently working on, as well as what’s going on in the run up to our biggest event in the calendar, the Stylight Awards.
12:30
Did someone say lunch? Here I rely on one of the three ‘S’s’ – salad, soup, or if I really want to treat myself, sushi. There’s a lot you give up and gain from moving to another country, but I’ve had to learn the hard way that Germany is not in favour of opening up a Marks and Spencer any time soon. The things you miss the most…
14:00
FYI social media isn’t the only part of my job description. I’m also acting copywriter for Stylight which means English texts have to either be proofed, edited or created from scratch by yours truly. Right now, I’m working on writing up all the wordings for the official Stylight Awards website. From nominee bios to news bulletins and thank you notes… what is it they say again? ‘All views are my own’.
15:30
Content curation is my middle name (it’s not). We have so much content across multiple channels to produce that it’s vital we plan ahead. Social media is a 24/7 deal but that’s what makes it more fun.
17:30
Lucky for you you’ve caught me on a non-routine day. Usually at this time I’d be taking my butt to the gym to work work work work work work, but today, I’m staying behind to help personally hand-write thank you notes for each VIP goodie bag for the Awards. It’s the little details that matter most no?
19:00
The weather is so much better than anything my hometown of Manchester has to offer, ever. So a friend and I are winding down (with a bottle of wine) in Munich’s Englischer Garten. The sun is shining, the English/German conversation is flowing and the wine is going down a treat – I could get used to this.
22:00
Back home and quickly catching up with the social sphere before it’s lights out. Of course, I’ll wake up at 2am, 4am and probably 5am to subconsciously check my phone, but hey, you’d be lying if you said you didn’t do that to.
